Beat Crime Website Attracts Home Office Attention
28th Aug 2007
A website which gives people the latest details of crime has attracted national praise in the United Kingdom.
Beatcrime.info developed by West Yorkshire Police Authority has been held up as a model by the home office.
Catherine Archer, Chief Executive of the Police Authority explains the unique features of the website: She said: “The Beatcrime website already provides everything that the Home Office wants to see in place", Reports the PublicTechnology.net website.
Once a postcode has been entered, users can see dots on a map of the beat area showing reported incidents of criminal damage, vehicle crime, violent crime, youth nuisance and anti-social behaviour over the last month.
Information on the BeatCrime.info website is updated in the middle of every month.
