Peter Gabriels $5 Million Music Investment
20th Aug 2007

Peter Gabriel the former Genesis front man has led a $5million investment in a music website owned and operated by Rhett Ryder and Martin Hopkins from Bath-based Exabre Ltd.

Mr Gabriel along with investors Eden Ventures are investing in music recommendation website Thefilter.com so far the website has attracted 150,000 users and is adding a further 25,000 a month

The funds will be to develop The Filter's technology around television and film content with a view to launching a wider recommendation service next year, Reports The Independent.

Mr Gabriel said “Not everyone would want a piece of software recommending what music they listen to or what films they watch, but said, given the amount of digital content online is growing exponentially, many consumers will want to be guided towards content relevant to their interest and tastes.”
