Thai Government Lifts its ban on You Tube
30th Aug 2007
Thailands Government has lifted its ban on the You Tube website after the sites management agreed to block videos deemed offensive.
The website has had a ban slapped on it since April 3rd, Information and Communications Technology Minister Sitthichai Pookai-yaudom said local Internet surfers would now be able to access the YouTube site.
The controversy sparked off earlier this year when a person from the US, using the pseudonym "Paddidda", posted several video clips insulting the Thai monarchy.
YouTube.com once refused to remove video clips arguing that its homepage was a global forum of freedom of expression.
