ShareMedicalSpace.com is a new website that serves a growing need among doctors and dentists to reduce overheads by sharing medical office space.
Solo practices continue to dwindle as a percentage of practice type to around 33%. This dramatic fall is due to decreasing reimbursements and increasing costs of rent, labor, medical equipment etc. Until now, doctors and dentists relied primarily on word-of-mouth and classified ads to find doctors or space for sharing arrangements. With ShareMedicalSpace, doctors and dentists now have a website dedicated solely to match doctors and dentists with medical office space to share.
On ShareMedicalSpace, one can now search or post medical and dental office space by location, specialty, day-of-week availability, language spoken etc. This is a much more efficient and easier way of finding matches.
Doctors in solo practice typically leave their offices empty on days they are in the hospital, clinic, satellite office, or if they are simply slowing down. This is valuable medical office space that could be generating significant, easy income. With ShareMedicalSpace, one can easily find another doctor who would pay to work in that space when it would otherwise be empty.
Sharing of medical office space is also ideal for doctors fresh out of residency who are understandably reluctant to invest tens of thousands of dollars to open new medical space. It is also ideal for doctors who wish to test a new area or open a satellite office.
