NHS Computer and Medical Information Sold on Ebay
17th Sep 2007
In the UK the National Health Service (NHS) trust is investigating after a computer hard drive containing medical information was sold on eBay.co.uk.
The Dudley Group of Hospitals NHS Trust currently has a PFI agreement with Siemens Medical Solutions for disposal of its IT.
In a statement, the trust said: "Unfortunately an investigation into how this particular hard drive has been openly purchased has not been able to identify the route at this stage, and the trust is continuing with its efforts to identify the source, including the possibility of theft."
