The Groovy Way to Find Restaurants
17th Sep 2007
A new web 2.0 service for finding restaurants, has opened and its not just a restaurant directory, but a restaurant recommendation service.
Foodio54.com, an emerging site in the Web 2.0 community, has created a groovy new way for you to find restaurants online.
"There's nothing new about online review sites," said Andrew Glass, co-founder. "We wanted to give more to our members than just a directory with reviews and ratings. How can you tell if you're going to agree with a review that someone else wrote? Sure you can get a general idea of a place by comparing multiple reviews, but we wanted to take it a step further."
The site compares patterns in how you rate restaurants that you've been to and then compare those ratings to other members on the site.
"We use three systems to rate a restaurant. We give a restaurant an average score based on everyone's ratings, a personal score based on your rating and a recommended score based on our prediction algorithm." You can also leave reviews about the restaurant as well. "Reviews definitely help paint a picture and can be really helpful when you're trying to decide between more than one restaurant that we've recommended for you."
