Fake Olympics Website Nets Chinese Man US$52,630

A Twenty-year-old man Liao Peigui, from south China's island province of Hainan has been arrested for operating a fake official Olympics Web site.
Peigui, who works as a computer engineer, is suspected of making 400,000 yuan (US$52,630) by goading people into entering fake prize draws on a Web site he "cloned" from the official one of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2008 Olympic Games.
China launched a six-month campaign targeting online pornography, illegal lotteries, contraband trade and fraud.
