Google Settles Adwords Case with ABWF
04th Sep 2007

Google came out of its latest battle with a successful result during a trademark infringement lawsuit by American Blind and Wallpaper Factory (ABWF).

The search engine was accused of allowing rival companies to display Adwords whenever users search specifically for ABWF, a window blinds reseller.

The suit was filed in 2003 and is just the latest in a long line of trademark infringement cases that have targeted Google.

The search engine has been successful in winning most lawsuits but it has also lost similar cases in Europe.

The latest lawsuit was scheduled to go to court in November, but the plaintiff agreed to drop its case. Neither party accepted any wrongdoing and both will pay their own legal bills.
