iPhone Demand Crashed the O2 Website
18th Sep 2007
The iPhone is not due to be released until the 9th November 2007, that hasn’t stopped around 1,500 visitors a second hitting the O2 website.
The O2.co.uk website crashed earlier today due to the excessive load, the load on the servers has decreased and the website is now up and running.
Customers hoping to be among the first to pre-order the iPhone online were met with an error message on O2's retail site.
"Due to extremely high demand, we're unable to process orders online at present," the website read. Customers were invited to place their orders by phone instead.
