Six Billion names on one website
17th Aug 2007
An internet search engine hopes to eventually track down the names of the worlds six billion people.
Spock.com says it has already added 100 million people and is adding on a million a day on the beta version of its website (invitation only), the website will be made public in Mid-August.
"We are a search engine organising information about people", Spock.com co-founder Jay Bhatti said.
Jay also goes on to say "How Google allows you to type anything and gives you a web document result, we give you results around people".
The website has been under development since 2006 in California. The website will also allow users to add information about people to help Spock.com compile full profiles.
I think the main concern most people will share with people search engines is “privacy” rights.
What do you think? Have your say.
